“Look for the opportunity for beauty within tragedy” – Archangel Michael
Is there a formula for flourishing regardless of whatever is happening and thrive because of it? In other words, how can we make certain that what obstructs us can empower us?
In our personal lives, and especially now on a global scale, we face challenges that test our emotional mettle. Unemployment, grief, divorce, death, or even a new venture with an unknown future.
“Every problem is a gift – without problems we would not grow.” ― Anthony Robbins
So can you get past the things that could slow you down from achieving your desires like the emotional (your attitude) and or physical (your behaviour) challenges?
So right now will you stand up and show those around you what you’re made of. There is a rare breed of people who have what it takes and thrive and rally at their challenges.
“Do not pray for an easy life, pray for the strength to endure a difficult one” – Bruce Lee.
FORMULA
Here are the first steps that can show you the way to build strength and determination (there will be more steps in our future blog posts):
First, set out your intentions
In the classic Vedic writings it declares: “You are what your deepest desire is. As your desire is, so is your intention. As your intention is, so is your will. As your will is, so is your deed. As your deed is, so is your destiny.”
First, What is it that you want? You can start with:
- One ‘work goal’ and…
- One ‘personal goal’
Start off slow and take baby steps.
Next, describe Why you want it (build Passion)?
- When you start adding the “why’s” to what you want, then you really begin to jell, to get in sync mentally and emotionally with what you want situations and people will come out of the woodwork to accommodate you.
- Knowing your why also helps you stay focused
- It makes you feel passionate about your goal
- What can also help enormously is a Vision Board or slides that capture your ‘why’ with pictures or symbols
Finally, Why do you believe you will have it (build Belief)?
- Describe the strengths that you bring to this goal to this party
- Write the reasons you know why you will achieve your intentions, your goals
- It gives your the clarity which builds mental toughness
- Building belief in yourself by looking at your history, your experience. I always list my past successes because I can use the ‘energy’ of past successes in my now – “Nothing succeeds like success”
INTENSE EMOTION INDICATES FASTER MANIFESTATION
As you are reading about what you want, why you want it, and why you believe you will have it, and seeing the pictures and symbols you’ve created the faster success will begin to happen.
This is the beauty of doing the above exercise and reading and re-reading what you wrote and seeing your Vision Board creates intense emotions. This is the fuel that drives everything, but you have to “work at it.” You can’t do this superficially.
- Be certain that you are thinking, always, in the direction of what you are wanting – not in the direction of what you are not wanting.
- Focus in the direction of the receiving of it – not in the direction of the fear that you may not achieve it.
- Think thoughts in the direction of the joyous expectation – not in the direction of your noticing that it has not yet come.
The Spartan warrior said it so well: “Sweat more in training bleed less in war”. For me this means that what I practice everyday mentally literally primes me for happiness and success.
